A native of Hartford, CT, Elder JoAnna Laiscell has emerged as a leading expert in finance, playing a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of several educational institutions with an impressive annual budget exceeding $500 million. An accomplished alumna of the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, Ms. Laiscell holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Taxation. Her passion for finance and taxation was inspired by her father, the late Reverend Edward Laiscell—a tax preparer, Navy veteran, and dedicated counselor with Catholic Charities.
As the President and founder of Nothin’ But Numb3rs, a premier accounting service specializing in tax preparation, billing, and corporate services, JoAnna provides comprehensive financial oversight to businesses across the nation. She adeptly manages law firms’ trust accounts, including IOLTA and IOTA accounts, ensures meticulous tracking of annual expenses and revenues, and specializes in establishing 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit corporations, overseeing their quarterly financial activities.
An authority in church finance and grants management, Ms. Laiscell is a respected member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the National Society of Accountants. She also holds a Master of Science in International Studies from Central Connecticut State University. Before founding her firm, she served as the Coordinator of Finance for the Capitol Region Education Council (C.R.E.C.), further honing her expertise in financial management.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Laiscell is deeply committed to her community as the Board Chair of the Literary Foundation, The Scribes Institute, Inc. Here, she dedicates her time to co-manage an organization that transforms the lives of hundreds of inner-city children through programs in foreign languages, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), robotics, and literacy. Ordained as an Elder in 2005 by Archbishop LeRoy Bailey and Dr. Aaron Lewis, she has been a faithful member of The Family of God for 26 of its 27 years of existence, participating in missionary trips to the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. Elder Laiscell is a proud mother of three adult children—Michael, Jasmine, and Jade—and a grandmother to Christian Michael. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, savoring fine cuisine, delving into her Bible, and studying Black history. With a distinguished career and a heart devoted to service, Elder JoAnna Laiscell exemplifies the qualities of a leading expert in finance and community leadership.
